Built on Dedication & Craftsmanship

It began with hard work. In 1953, Mr. Oscar Bowden started Control Transformer in his garage supplying transformers to Reliance Electric Corporation, in Euclid, Ohio. As a one-man operation, Mr. Bowden was committed to excellence, knowing you will never live down the reputation of a poorly designed and manufactured product.

As the company grew, so did the founding team’s vision: Creating custom transformers, reactors, inductors and chokes to meet specific client needs.

Becoming a Global Leader

As Control Transformer grew, so did our capabilities — evolving from a regional provider to a global leader in custom magnetic products.

In 2013, we expanded our global manufacturing footprint by opening a facility in Brazil, which strengthened our ability to serve diverse markets worldwide. Our acquisition by Park Ohio also expanded our reach and resources, allowing us to deliver even more complex, engineered-to-order solutions for industries such as automotive, industrial automation and renewable energy.
